Justin Wilson inherited his father's passion for racing, even though his father's amateur racing career was ended by injuries before his son was born.
Wilson showed he had a talent for racing, winning titles in karting, formula cars and eventually progressing to Formula One®, selling nearly 900 shares of himself to investors as a means of funding his racing career. A portion of his race winnings are paid back to the investors.
Since joining the IZOD IndyCar® Series in 2008, the driver from Sheffield, England has been very impressive in street and road course events scoring two IZOD IndyCar Series wins on a street or road course (he won at Detroit in 2008 and Watkins Glen in 2009).
As a youth, Wilson conquered the challenges of dyslexia. Now there is one more venue that he wants to win at.
"I said out there that the only thing that's going to taste sweeter than this win today is our first win on an oval," Wilson said. "And that's what we'll work towards and we'll get there."
